The aim of the advanced function library was to take microsoft´s extremely user friendly and easy to understand language and make it even simpler by pumping it full of useful routines so you don´t have to lift a finger in order achieve great functionality in your applications and at the same time make everything 100% open source and available for anybody.

The library isn´t just restricted to the visual basic environment (but its optimized for it) you can use the advanced function library in just about any COM aware programming environment which includes but is not limited to visual basic, real basic, c++, c#, delphi, asp, php, vbscript and more.
