Publisher's Description

This is the latest virus definitions for avast! anti-virus program.

iAVS is a fast, small, incremental and fully automated update via the Internet. No reinstallation of the program is needed for virus database updates!

If you are connected to the Internet, updates are downloaded and installed automatically without any need for user action. The presence of a new version on our servers is checked when the Internet connection is established, and every four hours afterwards. Please download the following file only if you really need it (e.g. if your computer does not have any Internet connection).

FreewareFiles tested avast! Virus Definitions 5.x-9.x VPS on 2014-06-30 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

"Definition update...NOT"

Pros:  Sure, if you have Avast already installed on your system, this works. But why would anyone just want to download the update if you already had it installed on your computer?

Cons:  This is an .exe file. It will extract the definition update if you already have avast installed. Alas, all I need is the definitions to update the emergency disk but I can't because it's an .exe file.

Other Thoughts:  Will someone actually upload the actual file without the .exe file that checks for avast first?
