Thus it is possible to:

repair a damaged system,
rescue data,
scan the system for virus infections.

Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer.

Pros: My wife's laptop suffered a major, major crash. No way would it boot up. Tried this software, and, by golly, it did work. We were able to save important files to an external hard drive. Bonus was that she could use her laptop for a full day afterwards. It crashed again, but we had saved all important files.

Cons: None that I can think of. I'll be trying it again.

Other Thoughts: Lesson learned - for my wife, that is. If you don't want to lose your work - the mantra is SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!
