Charon is a multipurpose proxy program. Charon will search google for publically posted proxy lists and incorporate an environmental checker to verify the anonymity / functionality of these. Filtering support is added by means of user-customisable lists to eliminate proxies such as those run by educational / military / government authorities.

FreewareFiles tested Charon 0.6 on 2006-04-17 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Pros: - Quick installation. - A wealth of features. - Highly customisable. - Nice and simple GUI.

Cons: - It's overly complicated for the basic user. - It cannot scan Google for proxies straight out of the box. - It's rather slow in development. - Little support.

Other Thoughts: I'd avoid this and go for something that's updated constantly.
