DiskTune monitors the hard disk temperature during analysis and all defragmentation processes. If the hard disk temperature exceeds the safe threshold, DiskTune will show a warning message. You then have 4 options:

Do nothing and wait. DiskTune will continue when it´s safe to do so
Stop current operation
Continue (good chance the warning will pop up again in a few seconds)
Disable HDD temp monitoring

But basically you can leave the PC unattended.

FreewareFiles tested DiskTune 1.1.27 on 2009-04-07 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Other Thoughts: I tried six or seven different freeware defragment utilities on my Dell Dimension 3000 (250 GB Hitachi IDE drive) and I prefer DiskTune. Boot ups are snappy; application performance seems improved. OTOH, MyDefrag seems to work best on my old IBM Intellistation Z Pro (36 GB scsi drive). YMMV
