HDD Wipe Tool is a freeware utility for low-level hard disk drive erasing. This small program will erase and re-certify a SATA, IDE or SCSI hard disk drive. Will work with USB and FIREWIRE external drive enclosures. Low-level erasing of Flash Cards is supported too. HDD Wipe Tool will clear partitions, MBR, and every bit of user data.

"Maybe it works"

I used this to wipe a drive I was returning to seagate (45 days old). Anyway I performed the "wipe and then it lock up my system and prevented my main drive from working. I shut down and pulled the power cord and reset teh machine without the drive I just "wiped" and was able to boot normally again. I sht down and reconnected the drive I just "wiped" and the system would not fully boot up it would hang at teh windows start up (desktop no icons-no menus- no ctrl-alt-del) I have to force it down with the power button. I sure hope my drive is clean.
