Modern cameras and smart phones capture pictures taking hundreds of megabytes, which may sometimes make them difficult to use or store. While there are many methods and programs you can use to resize the images, you will often not be able to see how the results will appear until you save the images. However, ImgSqzr will let you preview the results as you compress the images.

When you load a picture into ImgSqzr, it will convert it to JPEG if it is in a different format. The keyboard shortcut for loading an image is ctrl+L. You may also set the application to watch the clipboard so it automatically loads a copied image.

The simple graphical user interface features a slide bar for resizing the loaded image on the upper left section. The image file's name and path appears on the upper left part of the application window. Between these two are details about the percentage of reduction, original size and current size depending on the level of reduction.

The image preview pane takes the rest of the application window. This is where you will see the results of the changes you make in real time. In addition to reducing the size of a picture, you can rotate it either left or right.

Once you are satisfied with the results, you can save the image. You may save the image with a different name or let the free image resizer overwrite the original file.

You will be surprised at how much you can compress an image without any noticeable change in quality. This will not only help you save disk space but also make it easier to share the pictures.
