Wouldn't you appreciate knowing how your system memory is utilized, including the exact processes that consume too much memory? Memory History Tool is a free application that is designed to monitor the usage of system memory in real time. The free program is also useful in helping you determine whether the installed memory suffices to perform your daily tasks well.

Using Memory History Tool

Almost any modern Windows computer can run the program, as all it requires is Windows 7 or later edition, 30 MB system memory, 1 MB disk space and 1024 x 768 display resolution.

We liked the software's minimalistic design and simple interface that was easy to use. We did not need to install the lightweight application but simply save it where we wanted. The program loaded faster than conventional Windows gadgets.

The upper left part of the program window displayed the total and available memory in MB as well as the load percentage. The available memory and load percentage changed in real time depending on what was happening in the computer. The upper mid part of the display showed the load history in percentage.

Below these details, we viewed the performance rating, process consuming the highest amount of memory and total count. On the lower part of the display was a graph that also changed in real time with the memory usage. The program gave us the opportunity to customize the graph to suit our taste. The graph gave us maximum, minimum and average usage statistics, with the highest and lowest points respectively marked in red and green.

We could pause and resume monitoring whenever we wanted. We also had the chance to query and view the list of current processes. The software automatically exported the list to a CSV file. We could export a single or several files.

Conclusion

Memory History Tool is a useful application for viewing how your system memory is used. It can help you determine whether you need to stop some processes, uninstall troublesome programs or invest in more memory.
