Omziff is a straightforward encryption utility that uses various cryptographic algorithms to encrypt and decrypt textual files. These algorithms include: Blowfish, Cast128, Gost, IDEA, Misty1, AES/Rijndael, and Twofish.

Omziff also generates random passwords, splits files, and does simple file shredding according to DOD Standards. It is freeware, comes in a standalone executable file with no dependencies and is completely USB compatible!

FreewareFiles tested Omziff 3.3 on 2009-01-12 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Other Thoughts: This programme definitely warrants an excellent rating if the test vectors stand up OK but until my testing is complete I award it a worthy 4. Things look good so far. It is elegant, easy to use and has some nice useful features. The ability so save a generated password to file is a bit risky but this is no critisism of the software; just a warning to be cautious in the use of that feature. It will certainly satisfy the requirements of most users.
