PowerFolder is a free peer to peer tool, which lets you synchronize whole folders over the internet or local network.

Use PowerFolder if you want to:

Share files with friends - pictures, videos and more
Synchronize PCs - e.g. home and office PC
Exchange project files - especially large content

The free basic version allows: 3 Maximum Folders/10GB in Size, Pure serverless Peer-to-Peer, Delta-Synchronization.

What's New in version 3.0.2:

Sync percentage now displays correctly
Fixed bug in LAN-detection
Fixed rare bug, which prevented sync after startup
Rolling logfile (one logfile per day)

Ive been keeping a lookout for a tool like this for quite a while. And since I decided to reinstall XP on my laptop I gave it a try in order to backup my files to another computer. I must admit, it works great. Its easy, safe and fast, just what I needed. Give it a try!
