Read This! is a TTS (Text-To-Speech) engine.

Just write or paste the text you want to hear, click a button, and there you are: the software “speaks” the words.

You can make your text become auditory from many languages, furthermore you can save the resulting audio to a Wave file (*.wav) on the disk as well, then use it in your video tutorials, or redistribute it as you like it.

Requires: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

FreewareFiles tested Read This! (0.8.4.1 /Preview) on 2011-07-03 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Pros: Nice interface, very good speech rendering quality.

Cons: 1- Clumsy as an alpha stage product can be ; 2- Text limited (at this time) to 500 characters ; 3- Informed me an update was available, clicking on the link brought me to a page requiring login (???) ...

Other Thoughts: The main thing is that the quality is exceptionally good for a freeware product, when I compare that to the other applications I refer to, all far behind. The software needs polishing, but I think the engine is rather good.
