A simple YouTube video downloader and post processor. SmoothTube downloads videos from YouTube and converts them to MPEG format, which is supported by almost all media players and devices.

It also post processes videos, smoothing out some of the compression artefacts often introduced by YouTube´s file size requirements.

SmoothTube uses the same libraries as Videolan´s VLC player. It works as a front-end to VLC´s transcoding options, requiring no knowledge of their syntax or inner workings. You do not need VLC installed (though it is highly recommended as a multipurpose media player).
