Snes9x is a portable, freeware Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulator. It basically allows you to play most games designed for the SNES and Super Famicom Nintendo game systems on your PC or Workstation; which includes some real gems that were only ever released in Japan.

Please note, it is illegal in most countries to have commercial ROM images without also owning the actual SNES ROM cartridge.

Other Thoughts: yesss this can be against the law if you dont own the actual game,so this is mainly for back ups. but who gives ah crap, >:) i downloaded just about every rom game on coolrom.com and i own none of them. i download full albums free and over 560 movies with out paying a cent. cops have wayyyy more important things to worry about then ppl downloading stuff for free. so dont worry about d/l all the games cuzz who in the hack realy cares ? NO ONE is going to come arrest you and if you think so then LOL. bottom line is this is ment for back up's and works 100% great. thanks for this wonderful emulator.
