Publisher's Description

Starcraft - The Shadow of space is a Starcraft BroodWar mod.
It was made because we thought Starcraft needs some new life, and there are a lot of things we were unsatisfied with in the original game, so we decided to make a mod that would change those things!

This mod brings totaly new life to Starcraft, and still keeps the balance between the races.

  • A huge map-pack with fantastic multiplayer maps, missions and single player campaigns.
  • Changes all the units so they donīt cost supplies.
  • The basic upgrades can be upgraded up to 20 times.
  • Cool new buildings and units graphics.
  • Stat changes to almost every unit.
  • Improved AI.
  • Battle.net compatible.
  • Fixing some general bugs in Starcraft.
  • And more...

FreewareFiles tested Starcraft - The Shadow of Space 1.4 on 2006-08-13 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Pros:  None

Cons:  None

Other Thoughts:  This was an interesting extension to StarCraft. The Modified units were Interesting, The Protoss modifications were the best looking. However, most of the modified Terran sprites felt like superfluous additions, merely there to make the game feel decidedly different. The missions felt a little too simple. Grammar and spelling within the Mission briefings was off in places, but conveyed the idea.

The New buildings, while cool to look at, had apparent flaws. The shadows from the original building designs are still present, revealing that it is a blatant edit, but does not subtract from gameplay. The modified Vespene geysers were strange at first, but don't seem too out of place; and the new extraction building designs felt a little more raw and unrefned, making them feel more like what they'e supposed to be, on-sight refineries. Check it out if you're interested in a different Starcraf experience, try this out.
