Publisher's Description

Streamosaur is a real time direct to disk audio recorder software for Windows XP and Vista:
  • record your sound card inputs : microphone, input lines from external mixer, audio tape and more
  • record from any web streams
  • and more

With the "direct to disk" engine, Streamosaur can record unlimited broadcasts (depending of your hard drive free space), in WAV file format or MP3. To use MP3 encoder it’s necessary to setup the lame MP3 encoder: for that follow the instructions described in http://www.wavosaur.com/streamosaur/setup-mp3-encoder.php.

Streamosaur is a completely portable software without entries in registry. Streamosaur doesn’t need installer: unzip the file in a directory and launch the exe file.

How to record web radio? The different instruction for Windows Vista and XP are described in http://www.wavosaur.com/streamosaur/record-web-radio.php.

FreewareFiles tested Streamosaur 1.0.0.1 on 2008-11-10 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

Pros:  None

Cons:  None

Other Thoughts:  Here are the great points about Streamosaur 1.0.0.1
1. It is portable. Copy it to thumb drive and take it along with you on the go.
2. It shows left and right audio channel signal levels so you know if the audio input is loud enough and yet no clipping occurs.
3. There are no options, except to choose whether to save as wav or mp3. Without the messy and dubious options which only an AV engineer understands, if you use other competitive products.
