Occasionally you need to check the spelling of words in an application that does not include a spelling checker and you donīt want to launch your word processor just for that. This is when tinySpell becomes handy.

tinySpell is a useful utility that lets you to easily and quickly verify the spelling of words in any Windows application. tinySpell monitors your typing on the fly and alerts you whenever it detects a misspelled word. It also checks the spelling of every word you copy to the clipboard.

tinySpell installs itself in the system tray for easy access. It comes with an American-English dictionary containing more than 110,000 words.

What's New in version 1.9.10:

  • Bug fixes.
  • [tinySpell+] Two more options have been added: Beep if first letter of sentence is not capitalized - tinySpell+ beeps if a sentence starts with lowercase letter. Capitalize first letter of sentences - the first letter of a sentence is capitalized. Note that for tinySpell a new sentence starts only after you typed a previous sentence and ended it with one of the following punctuation marks: . ! ?
  • [tinySpell+] If you are really annoyed by the window that pops up when you start tinySpell+ you can skip it by modifying the command line that starts tinySpell+. This is done as follows:
    • Right-click the tinySpell+ Desktop icon, select the Shortcut tab, and add -q to the text in the Target field.
    • The text in this field is normally:
      "C:Program Filestinyspell+tinySpell+.exe"
and after the change it becomes:
      "C:Program Filestinyspell+tinySpell+.exe" -q
