You may need to create remote access to your computer for different reasons. For example, you may want to create a remote support service. TrustViewer gives you the opportunity to do this and more. The lightweight remote administration software enables you to share files and even make video calls for free.

Using TrustViewer

We downloaded the small application, which was less than 2 MB, and ran it directly from its saved location. However, we had the option to install it, which was a prerequisite if we wanted to use contacts.

The user interface featured four prominent buttons for giving access to our computer, connecting to a remote computer, exchanging files and making video calls or installing TrustViewer respectively. The lower part of the application window displayed the Internet download and upload speeds in Kb/s.

When we clicked the first button for giving access to our computer, the remote administration software opened a pop-up window displaying an IP address that we needed to give the person using the computer that we wanted to grant access. The application gave a unique nine-digit identifier for every session. When our partner entered the identifier, the connection was established immediately.

The second button gave us a pop-up window where we needed to enter the authorization code that we had received from our partner. Once we entered the code, the "Connect to" button appeared, and we clicked it to establish a connection.

Once the connection was established, we were able to view the remote desktop on our computer, allowing us to offer administrative services. We could share files with our partner and even make free video calls.

Conclusion

TrustViewer gives a direct point-to-point connection between two computers. The remote administration software is ideal for people providing technical support and IT professionals in general. The ability to share files can come in handy in cases where it is necessary to share log files to offer appropriate assistance. You only need to install the application if you want to use contacts, and you do not need to make any configuration.
