Windows 10 App Remover 1.2 New
FREEWAREFILES EDITOR'S REVIEW
Windows 10 comes with many pre-installed apps, some of which are helpful for everyday use. You may want to remove Windows 10 apps that you do not use or need. However, removing them is not as straight forward as uninstalling conventional programs via the Control Panel or even the Settings app. The apps are typically removed via the Windows PowerShell, which many users are not familiar with. Thankfully, you can use Windows 10 App Remover to complete the process with relative ease.
Using Windows 10 App Remover
We downloaded the lightweight program and launched it straight away by simply double-clicking the executable file. It was a portable application that did not make any changes to our system configuration.
The application opened a small window that displayed buttons with the names of different apps. When we wanted to remove Windows 10 apps, we simply clicked the buttons with their names. Clicking a button brought up a dialog window where we needed to confirm whether we wanted to remove the app.
When we clicked the "Yes" button, all the items on the application window became grayed out as a bar on the lower right corner of the window displayed the removal progress. Initially, we had thought the progress bar was an empty button that had no app to display because it looked exactly like the other buttons, including its size and position.
A check box enabled us to display the log of performed actions if we wanted. The program interface did not let us confirm whether the apps that we wanted to remove were actually removed because the names on the buttons did not change or disappear. We confirmed the removal of the apps by checking the Start menu.
The program had another check box that we used to change to install mode, with information that it might not work. Indeed, we tried using it to install some apps without success.
Windows 10 App Remover is a simple application that allows users to remove Windows 10 apps. This is important because the apps cannot be uninstalled in the conventional way via the Control Panel. You just need to click the name of the app that you want to uninstall and confirm the action once you launch the portable application.
