Publisher's Description

FastResolver is a small utility that resolves multiple host names into IP addresses and vice versa. You can simply type the list of IP addresses or host name that you want to resolve, or alternatively, you can specify IP addresses range that you want to scan.

For local network, FastResolver also allows you to get the MAC address of all IP addresses that you scan. FastResolver is a multithreaded application, so it can resolve dozens of addresses within a few seconds.

Be aware that resolving IP address to host name doesn´t work well under Windows 98/ME.

Starting from version 1.20, FastResolver allows you to view the company name of each MAC address. However, in order to get this feature, you must download the following external file, and put in the same folder of FastResolver.exe: http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/oui.txt
Be aware that you must save it as 'oui.txt'

What's New in version 1.22:

  • Fixed bug: The size of addresses list text-box was limited to 32 KB.

FreewareFiles tested FastResolver 1.22 on 2008-10-30 using leading antivirus scanners and found it 100% Clean. It does not contain any form of malware, spyware, viruses, trojans, etc. We will re-test each updated version and remove the award as well as the program if found infected.

"What a gem of an app!"

Pros:  None

Cons:  None

Other Thoughts:  Works like magic! Makes me angry at the same time as I had actually paid for a shareware alternative (A-MAC). This one is even better.
Like almost all of Nir Sofer's apps, UI couldn't be simpler, worls really fast as claimed and works in Linux (WINE).
ZoneAlarm users will get a "Spy-Site Alert" if trying to DL from the official link. Probably because this MAC hunting algo can be a great tool for hackers (will not get into details). Please note, the app is 100% clean and so is NirSoft site. Try DL-ing from Freewarefiles server to avoid alert. Even ZA has NO issue with the app itself (kinda funny IMO!)
