Compared to Avira AntiVir, this software is just too bloated and slows down my computer too much. Also got a better detection rate with Avira. Only drawback for Avira is that the free version has no built-in email scanner. But hey, best protection against email viruses is NOT TO USE OUTLOOK and always delete emails from unknown senders, especially those who got an attachment. Never catched an email virus, just by being aware of those simple rules.

Excellent free AV, great detection rate never misses anything ,slows only cheap computers with low RAM when running a full scan,should not be a problem for the majority of PC Users with modern Vista capable P.C s'.

On the odd occasion Windows Defender has detected the odd trojan (full scan)that AVG has missed also Windows Defender realtime protection has detected trojan before AVG Vice versa .

It installed ok but after that.... well...It wouldnt complete my scans and also it crippled my email client (Windows Mail). The email scanner was giving me socket errors. Even after I disabled the email scan and restarted..NOTHING!. Uninstalled and everything works great!. It seemes like a great program from its ratings but not for me. Just use caution!!!

Better detection rate than Avast but not as good as Avira Antvir which has a better detection rate but comes with a nag screen upgrade me to $paid$$ version which is good priced well anyway back to AVG review still the best free wish i could uninstall that linkscanner it is annoying.
