The reason why there is a virus-free and a virus-contaminated version at softpedia on the download mirrors, is that those are different releases. One is the 1.77.9 version, the other one the 2.91.1 beta version. The latter one has a virus. On the AIMP homepage you also only get a virus version.

beware! softpedia also has the virus versions. and strangewise they also have a virus-free version with a different name and size. whereas on the developer's website itself they again have only a virus-version. anyway, those russians seem to spread a trojan deliberately - for whatever reason...
