With all the multitude of programs i install and subsequently uninstall (and that's a lot), within its catagories , CCleaner tends to find the crap files across the board. Additionally , with all my activities, I don't recall ever having a problem with any of its registry findings. I think the anti-virus updates as junk previous poster observed are transfer/installer files (I've noticed this on AVG).

I hope they have made an improvemnt
over the previous versions. It indeed marks some antivirus updates as junk. It also does not recognize all installed programs in order to clean up their crap. Also be careful on the registery clean up section; it is kind of limited on info about the enteries.

It does the job, but keep an eye on what its doing as I noticed that it included a few of my antivirus and other program updates as "crap" to be cleaned out and that it does not always get rid of all the "crap" it finds

Does a fine job of cleaning 'crap.' But for more thorough cleaning, I would go for Find Junk Files. Run these two utilities and you'll see what I mean.

When one has a program of this fine caliber , one can only tweak it here or there and adapt as warranted without losing its central focus : that forte' being a file cleaner (I have seen others compare this program with pure registry scanners , which i think is a mistake though i think its registry scanner comes up with some quite keen , surprising and reliable findings). Its astounding speed and subsequent results and the validity thereof I've found unmatched. Simply a neat effective product.
