"Still ROCKS"
The latest release of this gem still ROCKS, big time. I read the negative reviews here and think to myself 'What idiots.' Anyone who cannot find this utility to be a 'system cleanup marvel' is simply not qualified to be messing with it in the first place. At least one programming opportunity remains, at least in my opinion, and that is that securely deleted file names are still not destroyed in a FAT32 file system. The data is overwritten, but the filenames remain intact.

I've compared (side-by-side) quite a few file/disk cleaners and CCleaner is the most thorough and trustworthy freeware product i've found thus far . It's a classic , on my pc. Even it's registry scanner results , if not all encompassing, have been reliable and keen.

An absolutely fantastic utility that does just about anything you would hope for in a system cleaner. It differs from other registry and file cleaners in that it is totally customizable, above and beyond the 'default' settings that come with it. You can make it delete virtually any registry setting or file you wish, and you can choose between simple deletion (file recovery possible) or secure deletion. Secure file deletion takes longer, but the files will not show up with normal 'undelete utilities' like normally deleted files will. The only problem I still see is that erased file names are still visible with undelete utilities, even in the newest version, which supposedly fixed that. Keep up the great work, CCleaner! FIVE STARS

It's a pretty good program. Except it deleted some important files from my computer so now I'm not able to load some of the applications installed on my computer. So by installing this program this is one of the risks you take.
