You need to kill the MPlayer.exe, not the MPUI.exe when it hangs! Does it hang with all kinds of video files or only specific ones? What is the format of your video files and what does the log file say ???

actually with taskmanager the progam get closed but the sound will be repeating and only way to stop it is to restart the comp. it happens when any video file is played.

Hi. If MPlayer get's "hang" you can kill "MPlayer.exe" from the Taskmanager safely. Nevertheless, this of course shouldn't happen at all. So please tell use some more. What files do you play that cause the problem? What does the log say? And so on...

i downloaded recently mplayer. i am usingit. but the problem when ever i minimise it it gets hang. sound will be repeating,it never stops untill the comp is restarted.
so help me what to do.

If the download is done properly, you will get "MPUI.2007-02-23.Full-Package.exe" and nothing else. If not so, then something went wrong and you need to restart your download. Sometimes Download Managers can cause problems. If you encounter problems, please try to download with your Web Browser!

It may be that the download was not completed and needs to finish if not try renaming the file and adding .exe or .zip at the end and see if it opens. instead of mplayer.dap for example rename it mplayer.exe or mplayer.zip then try to open it.

I got absolutely no idea what "DAP typefile" is? But "DAP" is some kind of download manager, correct?
Nevertheless, if you download the "MPlayer for Windows" package, you will get an .EXE file. If not, then something went wrong and you have to try again! Maybe disable download manager (if you used one) and download the file directly in your Browser. Once the download is completed, run the installer and follow instructions...
