"good!" Very good program. Powerful for a 2.57M installation file. You have layer and path function here. It seems the author like gimp because the interface looks like gimp. And gimp's interface sucks! Besides the improvement in interface, maybe it should provide more plugin filters. by: G	5	2006-06-12

"Is it GIMP?" Let us compare: * PaintStar installs and runs. I could not get GIMP installed correctly on Windows. I was able to get GIMPshop installed but it crashes a lot. All future comparisons are with GIMPshop. * It loads quickly. * It does not use GTK (no dlls). It uses standard Windows open/save dialogs. I checked it with Spy++. It appears to be programmed in Delphi. * It does not have as many tools or features as GIMP. (I may have missed some.) * The license is not GPL (so it better not be based on GIMP's code). IMO, PaintStar is HEAVILY inspired by GIMP with some modifications that make it more familiar to Adobe Photoshop users (except the layers are listed up-side-down!!). I do not think it is a derivative. I thank the developer for their hard work and hope they continue to improve this program. by: guy	5	2006-04-06

"paint or brush" rather than paint, savvy than adobe or ACD, also have more than adobe photoshop album starter 3 by: painter	5	2006-04-04
