"Good Tool"
If you have a slow dila-up connectoin, "Fresh Download" works very well. The ability to resume downloads even after you turn off your computer for a day or more is a great feature. As is the ability to "schedule" a time to download.

I have DSL. I tried this program and it did speed up my downloads. I download the same file, from the same site. When I used Internet Explorer to download it was about 50 to 60 k a sec. When I used FreshDownload it was over 100 k a sec. I don't know about Dial Up though. But if you want a Download Manager/Accelerator, the FreshDownload is the BEST!!!

"Just Didn't Work!"
While the program appears to be well written, it certinaly didn't speed up my downloads. I downloaded this program a second time as the first test (56K modem, average 44.6 Kbps connection speed). Prior to installing this program, the download started at 5.72 KB/Sec and ended at 5.32 KB/Sec. With the program installed, the download started at 5.56 KB/Sec and ended at 5.13 KB/Sec, with several drops to as low as 3.85 KB/Sec during that. I tried this with several more downloads (from various sites) and saw fairly consistent results. I read the instructions several times to make sure I was using the program correctly and it appeared to be working just as those instructions described, except it just didn't help my download speeds. Also requires registration of email address after 23 day trial period (unlock key only sent to email address).

No increase in download speed. Download Accelerator finds the fastest download sites and uses those. Download Accelerator beats it. Hands down, even with a banner..

Don't waste your time downloading....using this dramatically SLOWED my downlaod times and some programs wouldn't even download so I had to remove it to get them.
