"Nonsense"

Don't listen to MasktRacer--he obviously doesn't have any idea what the hell he's doing.

"Warning!!"

This is a Warning!! Azureus will screw-up your LimeWire or Cabos programs! Both use Java, and it seems that Azureus is a butthole about blocking other Java related programs.. I've tried uninstalling Java and LimeWire, then re-installing them... So far nothing works, I may have to wipe my system to get Limewire to work again... -{MasktRacer}-

"Great App"

I have tried all the torrent clients and Azureus is by far the easiest to use and receives amazing connection speeds. I am not sure what people are talking about with the Java code and the program being too big or slow, but this is an awesome application. Check it out A+.

"too big"

Azureus, using java pretty well means loading an independent operating system inside Windows. Azureus only uses a subset of java programming, but you have to load the whole java program. A waste of space.

"Good Program"

Azureus is a good bittorrent program. Most large games and software you can only download by using a bittorrent program. Everything seems to be moving in that direction to save on bandwidth. I tried two or three other bittorrent programs but I only had problems with them. Azureus is easy to set up and use right away. I wish they would intergrate a search function. Other than that it is a good program. {MasktRacer}

"Azureus rules"

Azureus is in my opinion the best BitTorrent Client. It is open source, it has many plugins and it's easy to use.

uTorrent is for old computers, LOL.

"Why, yes, it does matter!"

Bloated? This has rapidly become more over- and misused a phony term of cluelessness than "resource usage" ever was. Any application that has more than three features is considered "bloated". People will rave about their favorite features, and rate an applciation highly because of them, but then scream at others who make feature suggestions because "THAT WOULD BLOAT THE PROGRAM!"

I mean, consider: Does it make sense that people are whining about the file size of Azureus and Java, when the whole point of BitTorrent is to enable the downloading of large files? What do you use BitTorrent for--to download 1-KB icon files, or multi-GB videos and other huge content? Think about it. If you can.

Does uTorrent's lack of plugins matter? Yes. Closed source, closed architecture--it locks you into what that ONE author's concept of an application should be. And he's not just closed-source, he's closed-minded. How many times does "this feature will not be implemented" appear in his FAQ?

Azureus will always be King of BitTorrent... A much bigger download than others, yes. More memory demand, indeed. More work to configure, absolutely. But if you and your system can handle it, living with royalty is the way to go.

"My view..."

It certainly is one bloated piece of cheese, but it does the job. uTorrent might lack the extra plugins, but does that matter? What is it you want to do, download a torrent or getting yourself into a lot of trouble (system instability). With some easy setting up and good torrents, you can easily get downloads going 300kB/s+ ! (also check my helpsite over at http://one.xthost.info/torrentdoctor) Just give it a try, you can either throw it away or love it!

"BLOATED PIECE O CRAP"

7MB install + 58-110MB java required.

Eats system resources like it's going out of style.

Utorrent is almost as small at the desktop shortcut BLOAT.

"can I join the war please!"

My PC is a rocket. And i have huge drive space and RAM. And I use utorrent FROM CHOICE. I want to download a torrent-- period. My choice does it perfect. I do not want to make coffee on a remote server. Azureus is fine--If you need the extra features.
Most torrenets DON'T.

"All Hail the King!"

Gee whiz, if µTorrent isn't just for those with outdated PCs, then why are all the µTorrent fanboys (yes, fanboys) constantly parroting how "low on resources" µTorrent is? Why are they constantly slamming Azureus for its supposed "high resource usage"? (Reality: They can't figure out how to configure it.)

I'll be the first to admit that configuring Azureus is a pain in the ass, but once you do, µTorrent just doesn't have a chance. If Azureus doesn't work better on your system, then either your system sucks, or you didn't bother to configure Azureus.

By the way, I do so love how one has to whip out the Character Map, or copy and paste, to spell out the correct name "µTorrent". Moronic.

"Reliable Azureus"

I saw many users, who instead of trying to get green smile in Azureus moved to uTorrent and they seem to be happy. However, uTorrent only ignores NAT problem, it does not solve it, since its mostly due to bad configure router or etc. I do not say anything, think about it yourself to get logical conlusion, which one is better. ;)

µTorrent is not ONLY for thos w/ minimum HD's or available memory...That's ridiculous. If something does a job just as well, or better, and its much lighter on resources and takes up less HD space...why not use it? AZ fanboys seem to be blind to common sense sometimes.

"Definite Duh!"

Does uTorrent run on anything but Windows?

Java is ~58 MB once installed, so please don't exaggerate. It's not svelte, but it shouldn't break the bank, either.

uTorrent is a decent alternative, for people with 100-MB hard drives, or 256-MB of RAM, but Azureus will always be King of BitTorrent!
