"Solid, but a bit slow..."
Internet Explorer RC1 is a solid, feature-filled web browser. It seems to render every web page pretty much flawlessly, even those that use buggy web code. Impressive. However, RC1, like the beta that preceded it, is slow. That is, unlike other, leaner and meaner web browsers, web pages -- especially those that load when Internet Explorer first cranks up for a session -- take a while to display. So, if you want a solid browser but can live with some occasionally slow page renders, the you should give this browser's RC1 release a try. by: CharlieOrlando | 4 | 2009-01-26 |

Sucky sucky...IE BBTA 8 should be rechristened to IE BUGGY 8..
Gets messed up with QTTabbar or QT breadcrumbs Addressbar installs.
I pressume its monopolistic M$ trying again to integrate IE BUGGY 8 with winxp explorer, and that messes things.
winXp Explorer toolbar plugins appearing in IE :(. Disabling them in IE disable them in WinXP explorer too....SUCKY SUCKY BIG SUCKY by: Pissed oFF | 5 | 2009-01-10 |

"Don't judge IE and Microsoft Bad"
Don't judge MS and IE so bad, not all of MS products is bad..
I love Windows Media Player..
I love IE8..IE 7 is great but just too slow in interface (but faster than firefox for loading pages), IE8 is much faster than IE7! by: Arif/KcL | 4 | 2008-12-28 |

"Still in Beta....."
IE8 is still in Beta which means it still in a unfinished state, it will have bugs and may act up.....if you don't know anything about software in beta state then don't install them on your computes.
Anyone who has XP with SP3 installed,
will not be able to uninstall IE8 from their computer unless they uninstall SP3 first .
Happy surfing everyone ! by: Tom | 3 | 2008-09-11 |

"old crap with new polish"
Same old crap from M$. The fastest way to get a virus on your computer is to use IE. Every man who got just a little bit of brain knows that. ActiveX is the worst thing M$ ever introduced to the web, closely followed by Adobe and their annoying Flash plugin. If you want to surf much safer, switch to Firefox. It's better in every aspect: speed, security, configurability, etc. by: Steve Peck | 1 | 2008-09-10 |

"Confused"
I would have given this a 5 except after installing and running it, the menu bar and the icons underneath the address bar were all black. I couldn't figure out how to change it so I did a system restore. Unfortunately, it restored me back to beta 1 with some features of beta 2, like the right click context menu with items on it that I can't use or delete. I then tried to uninstall beta 1, but windows can't find the uninstaller. I have no idea how to uninstall service pack 3. I'm very disappointed. Anybody know how to fix the right click context menu to get rid of the accelerators I can't use? Managing them does nothing. I even tried using Shell Extension Viewer from Nirsoft but they aren't listed in there either. As I said, I'm very disappointed and giving them a 3. If they could make it easier to install and run, then I would give them a 5.

"Problems with Beta 2?"
Yes, to the previous poster and to all the good folks that have installed IE8 Beta 1 before, Microsoft says that uninstalling both XP SP3 and IE8 Beta 1, then reinstalling XP SP3 will solve the problem. Afterwards, you should be able to run this version with no problems: ) BTW I like it a lot., it's way better than Beta 1. Give it a try. by: TechRater101 | 4 | 2008-08-28 |

"won't work for me"
The browser appeared to install ok, but every time I try to run it, the browser just shuts right back down. Thank goodness for Firefox being a dependable functional browser. by: channce | 1 | 2008-08-28 |

"Very, Very Poor"
I have a PC with an Intel 2.8 DuoCore Processor, a 256Mb nVidea graphics card, and 2Gb Dram memory.
IE7 refused to install on my PC, and so has IE8. All I get is a message stating that 'IE8 has failed to install...' WHY ?
I had no problems installing FF 3.0, or Opera 9, so why won't this IE8 install. It's infuriating ! by: freefaller | 1 | 2008-08-28 |
