"Dissapointing Netscape Version"
I always preferred Netscape over IE. My old reliable 7.X versions were great, especially the imbedded mail system. They did away with that feature and the old 7.x became out of date for other reasons. I went with the new 8.1.2 and added Thunderbird email. The mail system works well, after getting used to it not be part of the browser package. It could still be set as my email icon too. However, the Netscape 8.1.2 is terribly unstable - continually crashing at certain sites and locking up at others. What crap! So, I switched to Firefox browser and kept the Firebird email. They are stable and work well. Too bad that Netscape seems set on killing what used to be a great product (7.x and earlier versions). They are making all the wrong moves!

"Too clunky"
If you want a "Microsoft Alternative", go for Firefox 2.0.1. If you prefer a Microsoft based browser, use AVANT 11.0 build 39. This offering is way too resource intensive to be considered mainstream.

Excellent browser. Beats all others, but you need the HP do run it properly. 3.0Ghz, 2 gigs of memory do the job. If you are running a dinosaur, use FireFox.

Great program. I've been using it for a few months now and it works perfect, plus it automaically logs me in on secure web pages.
It is a far advanced web browser, so it needs lots of hp to run. If you complain that it is too slow - then spit out some cash and go buy a modern computer.
3.0 Ghz with 2 gigs of memory minimum will make you a happy user. Welcome to 2006 !!!

It seems like old time still get over netscape slow-browsing and loading on the start. The last time I remembered this piece of crap is just like it is now, They disappeared for so long and now back to regain it honorable of the wackest free browsers world again, bravo bravo for this loser that still exist lol

You should try it. I don't understand why people say that this browser is slow when it really isn't. Everybody is raving about Firefox. What is so great about Mozilla Firefox? I've used Firefox but I like Netscape better. I totally disagree with all the negative reviewers here.

Don't Waste your time on this, it wack and still slow all these years they been working on it and finally released it. Does it improve, no, still sux, almost all kind of browsers out there are way better than netscape. Netscape no wonder now is way behide and no longer in anyone mind, no once cares about it, cos it wack like old times
