You guys must be lame, this "Chrome" and that " Safari" for windows are nothing but Internet explorer under the hood, masquerading as a new browser.
And no, they dont even come close to FF3 or Opera.

I still like Firefox the best, but this is good.
It seems to be steadily improving.
As for the previous poster & win 95, sure, win 95 is small & fast, but it also doesn't run a lot of programs + you have to have a special edition of 95 just to support USB.
Win 98 SE is much better than win 95 as it runs everything 95 does, + some.
XP is by far the best release of windows ever. It runs everything almost, with the exception of some DOS based games which required direct access to hardware & will not work under emulation mode.
What would be great is if MS released a version of windows that did not require .Net 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 4.5, DX 8, 9, 10, flash, shockwave, java, etc.
I mean, come on! You should be able to just hook up games & they run! Forget problems like, I cannot run this program because I don't have XP SP3, so I install it, then, suddenly I have an application that will NOT run because I put XPSP3 on my machine.
Come on, Microsoft, you can do better than this...., can't you?

To the gutless wonder that posted under NO NAME saying that I should switch from Win2000 to Vista, I say this: WHAT?? Vista is one of the most bloated pieces of crap EVER issued by MS. You obviously have NO clue as to what you are talking about. I will NEVER upgrade to anything above XP. As a matter of fact, I run Win95 on my old laptop. It boots 10 times faster than Vista and does so on a machine with 16megs of RAM. So,until you have a clue..don't bother posting.

This is a very fast and light browser. I love the opening animation made for the tabs... it gives us a speed sensation, but, Chrome isn't perfect yet. I miss the cleaning on closing function, to remove the temporary internet files, and the mouse gestures too. It is a good browser, but not the best. There are others too much better than Chrome. I, personally, recommend Maxthon, Firefox or Opera.

as previous reviewer said, it dosent work on win2000. it seems google have caught the same "arrogant" bug as microsoft. they shouldnt be arrogant as chrome is an average browser at best. in short, its as fast as firefox with limited options. its based on the firefox browser which was mostly developed with funds from google so they didnt need to develope it from scratch. given that i was expecting better from google.

Until the morons at Google realize that there are MILLIONS of people like me that still run Windows 2000 and that WE would like to run Chrome, I have boycotted Google. It makes me sick how insensitive they are to the computing public.

Iron is built on the chrome code so it looks and acts like Chrome BUT it doesn't phone home like Chrome AND it comes with an ad blocker...Stick with Iron over this

Pros:
- Easy + Free
- Blocks popups
- Fast
Cons:
- Doesn't support plugins like firefox does... Such as IE tab etc.
- Browszar.com is much smaller & portable & still blocks popups/cleans up on exit & includes tabs (300 kb or less, compared to bloatware google at more than 8 mb BEFORE install)

I read a review here where it mentions an alternative named Iron. I downloaded and installed it. And it is really like Chrome, looks the same, but is without the spy-function of Google. It's open source and can even block ads by placing an adblock.ini in the installation folder. Great software. Download here and forget the Google crap:
