"Mp3tag 2.39l Beta is awesome!"
This mp3tag utility is extremely useful and easy to use. (I tried a few others before I landed on this one.... My advice is don't even bother trying anything else!)
I have dozens of albums in mp3 format downloaded from various sources over a number of years and I wanted to have the tags fixed up so that my new 8Gb mp3 player could index them properly.

I used to use MP3 Book Helper to sort out my music - a great program but ugly and had more bells than I needed. MP3-Tag is fast, easy on the eye and easy on the CPU, and just does what I want - edit the tags, one by one or individually. I also love being able to change data like in a spreadsheet, some other programs also work like this but MP3-Tag is easier! And it doesn't need java or .net baggage to run. I did have a bit of trouble downloading the file so you may need to turn off your download manager if you use one.

I have no idea what the previous reviewer thought this program would do so I completely disagree with him. This is the absolutely best tag editor I've come across. Makes it very easy to edit tags for individual files or massive groups of files to correct any entries all at once. Handles many files without error, I tried lots of editors and was disappointed - this is the real thing, and I thank the developer for providing an excellent tool for free. It's made the task of correcting my downloaded MP3 files with varied tags to conform to what I want simple and direct. Bravo!
