Try AIMP2 and you will forget Winamp within seconds. AIMP2 is the new king of music players out there. It's much faster than Winamp and has much better features. By the way, the new Winamp version is bloated, slow and buggy. Had too much hassle with it. AIMP2 runs like a charm and has delicate built-in stuff. And of course, it's free!

i tried the new version. it's ok in its features. but what is it for, when the usage is obsolete anyway? i have a 1.6 ghz machine with 512mb ram. but this winamp version takes half a minute to load! so sluggish! now i use AIMP and it starts within 3 seconds. also, winamp 5.5 uses too much resources.

since version 5.5 this soft takes ages to load and eats up the resources of my comp! i go with aimp instead, because it is much faster and has more features!

(1) Cannot stand alone, has many dependences (2) Incessantly attempts to connect to AOL (3) Comparatively large memory footprint (4) Cannot normalize audio (5) One of the dirtiest uninstalls I've EVER seen...56 orphaned registry entries Etc..
The are many better alternatives to this. For example the GOM player, KMplayer, VLC player are all superior to this invasive clunker.
