"NOT Reliable!"
Pick or not - according to some of the other reviewers (not included the fan boys) it's a registry destroyer, and definitely not reliable... stay away from it and go with CCleaner's SAFE registry cleaner - unless you like to reformat your system once in a while...

"Dangerous"
It's dangerous to use. After running Argente, I had serious problems with system stability. Some programs did not run properly, crashed, etc. Fortunately, Argente offers the possibility of making a backup and then to restore - what I did. Then everything was fine again. However, too dangerous for me. What if you think everything runs fine and then after restart Windows doesn't boot anymore? Uninstalled it for good. Rather use CCleaner's built-in regcleaner, which is safe.

After running Argente outlook and all other office programmes failed to run. I restored the registry and outlook worked again. Not sure what Argente did but it seems to be the culprit.

"One of the better registry cleaners"
Argente - Registry Cleaner 1.4.2.1 is one of the better freeware registry cleaners. Aside from the program being written in Spanish (EULA!) with a weird "Ingles" translation, this is a very good registry cleaner. The GUI is very good, excepting the English text translation, and is very well constructed for functionality. Backups are provided for, (Registry and deleted registry entries), but I would recommend creating a Restore point on XP and above before running the cleaner, I don't put much faith in software contained registry backups. The registry backup appears somewhat bloated (about 79MB on my machine running XP Pro) and there is no auto-delete for saved registry backups (the registry back-ups must be deleted manually), as there is an auto-delete setting for backed-up deleted registry entries (I auto-delete after 3 days). After several weeks of use, I have not needed to restore any deleted registry entries. All components of the registry are scanned by the cleaner. As freeware goes, it's a very good registry cleaner.
