"Beware on Vista ! !"
I ran this utility just one time on my Vista machine. Never again. Had to restore the entire PC from a backup DVD. Dang good thing I had a backup! by: GBJ | 1 | 2008-04-11 |

"Beta 5.oo"
On 2kpro:
"get volume info error"... so it didn't graphically display my active (not idle,as it claimed) drive upon selecting Analyze... so, no manual defrag.
Its Auto /background feature seems to be running, though --- doing what, who knows?. by: mweizor | 1 | 2008-04-10 |

"Great"
This program worked perfectly for me. No crashes whatsoever. by: Diluen | 5 | 2008-03-26 |

"Unstable"
Today I tried to defragment and optimize my computer. At 9 percent the program crashes, and when the computer was rebooted, all of my startup programs were erased and I found out that this program placed a hidden element at startup... The earlier version was more stable than this! by: Trekker | 2 | 2007-10-26 |

"v- 2.1 beta 4"
Despite my "glee" that a newer release finally came out, though still a beta, on my system (with 2kpro), at least, this version is performing intolerably... I have some concerns about file settings missing when its auto start/smart defrag is enabled, particularly startup entries--if so, if any others experience this, please inform others. Also, it's analyzer, without a "view results" is basically worthless; which leads to another point: its graphic file display is inaccurate. Further, its "defrag and optimize".. does not optimize and actually creates fragments. I stand self-corrected and disappointed... by: mweizor | 1 | 2007-10-19 |

"v- 2.1 beta 4"
Very nice..everything listed within their "what's new" list needed a tweakage -- and, thanks to FreewareFile/Iobit for listing "what's new" here, on the Developer's Comment page (especially for a beta program). Yes, it's still a beta : I think that continuous defrag feature is quite the challenge .... by: mweizor | 4 | 2007-10-18 |

"After Further Review"
I made the previous statement about it being the best but I started noticing my Vista 32 Home Basic would stop responding to certain programs. The end result is untill they get this program right I recant my previous post and do not recommend this program.Everything was fine untill I started using this program for 2 days. I'm gong back to using O&O and have learned not to use anything else.

"THE BEST!"
Just wanted to say beta 3.1 works with Vista 32, not sure about 64 so check the homepage. This is the best harddrive defragment program I have ever used. Even better than perfect disk and O&O. If you don't like the automatic defrag when your computer is idle just turn it off via the settings and use the schedule settings or both. I ussually don't praise a program like this but I am really impressed. I have three computers and use it on all three of them one uses Windows XP, the other WIndows 2000 Pro., and another Windows Vista home basic 32. So check the website to make sure that your Vista is compat because I can't tell you about windows vista otherwise. Good Luck and God Bless. by: THETRUTH | 5 | 2007-08-11 |

"v- 2.1 Beta 3.1"
Update History
Beta 3.1 (July 27, 2007)
+ Improved directory defrag algorithm
+ Improved AutoDefrag function
* Fixed report bugs in background
* Fixed general bugs
It's fairly fast(depending on how fragged ones files are) and thorough (though,as with others,I usually run comprehensive twice in a row). On 2kpro , I haven't had any Beta problems. But I have to grin to myself; will that Optimization Level bar under Status section ever go beyond "good"(?). by: mweizor | 4 | 2007-07-27 |

"Still trying"
I am using IObit SmartDefrag 2.1 Beta3 just a few days, but so far so good. by: MAD | 5 | 2007-05-11 |

"Are all the reviews about the same program???"
I installed IObit SmartDefrag about 6 month ago and found it to effective when it ran, as it had a tendency to crash under heavy HDD usage. It definitely kept my HDD (200GB) operating more efficiently and faster access times. My only complaint was instability when running in the background. I read the 16 previous reviews, and though I was looking at 2 different programs. I also run McAfee Site Adviser, and got NO indications of virus/spyware/malware content on the home site! We all have a certain personal bias! I uninstalled IObit SmartDefrag about 3 months ago. by: farpointstation | 3 | 2007-05-01 |

"Good stuff"
Very happy w/ this program. Had a prob w/ windows defrag, tried this. I also downloaded Advanced Windows Care V2 from the homepage, another excelent program. As for the reviewer who said it's a virus...I have no idea what you're talking about-do you? by: Scratch | 5 | 2007-04-28 |

"it Works!"
It actually does what it says it will do, without any creepy side effects or trickery (like those programs that show you what is wrong 'for free' but then you have to pay to fix it.) Nope this works, is free , and didnt suck in any way. by: In Thrall | 5 | 2007-04-13 |
