"bugs!"
I've installed this on 2 machines and had to remove it (with difficulty) after it caused great conflict on both PC's. Bootup became a 5 minute process and even apps such as Add/Remove Programs would not open. I like the interface and the overall concept but will not try on any other machines until theb problem is recognized and a fix is issued.

"AVG antivirus"
I have been using this product for a few years and it has never let me down, this new version is excellent and it beats most commercial versions of other antivirus. I gave up on Norton,, Panda etc, This is a great programme. by: Jackie | 5 | 2008-05-18 |

"It's good because i know it is"
Better detection rate than Avast no registration key garbage unlike Avast easy to use interface unlike Avast does not leave loads of leftover entries in your registry if you uninstall AVG unlike Avast,AVG beat most commercial AV Software unlike Avast. by: Farook IT man | 5 | 2008-05-18 |

"XP do not use"
This is a sorry excuse of advancement of a product from this company. They have actually taken steps backwards. The scan times have DOUBLED. The old version of 7.5 was much easier on your pc. Take the Avast software for now and avoid this "new" garbage product. This new program wreaks havoc on XP users. by: kupski | 1 | 2008-05-18 |

"v7.5 the Best"
Don't know where below reviewer gets false positives from AVG has no problem with false positives unlike Avira or Avast. by: Numpy | 3 | 2008-05-17 |

"Excellent detection rate one of the best ,a shame it uses too much memory"
Option to disable linkscanner would be helpful as it takes so long to load and rate websites, intergrating the antispyware with the antivirus should not slow down your pc as other AV programs like Nod32 have low memory use and also have built in anti-spyware,AVG 8 should be an improvement to version 7.5 but unfortunately it is not. by: Bush Kanga | 5 | 2008-05-16 |

"requires nuclear power"
you would have to feed it on diced lions,it requires so much power. if your pc is any older than 3 years then forget it.... by: hoppy | 3 | 2008-05-16 |

"Only fair :-("
Tested it and it is true, what the other reviewers wrote. AVG has now become a BIG resource hog :-(
I`ll stick with Avast also included Antispyware now, works very well. by: Ray Alex | 2 | 2008-05-14 |

"Stick with AVG v7.5 until updates cease 28 Dec 2008"
v8.0 real disapointment only for the fact that is now so slow since they integrated anti-spy and linkscanner in with this version also the interface is not as clean and set out as good as v7.5 and last why all the pop up screens and interface drop down nag asking you to upgrade to paid version? Also i tried disabling the linkscanner as it was taking ages to load when giving a safety rating similar to macafee siteadvisor which i prefer but when you disable the linkscanner the AVG icon turns dark warning you feature is disabled and stays that way overall less user friendly uses twice as much memory Tuneup utilities and windows reports AVG is using an excessively high amount of memory,so i will be sticking with v7.5- excellent until updates cease . by: Alien Ware | 2 | 2008-05-12 |

its still good but this went from a low resource program to a high resource hog by: | 3 | 2008-05-11 |

"Resource hog like Norton"
Yes AVG did score well avcomparitives but this version uses so much CPU memory RAM it slows the average pc down.free 6 month kaspersky trial below link much better without the slow.

"A must for internet explorer users"
Computer loads much faster apparently IE7 gets exploited with active x trojans/malware AVG8 cleaned them up loads of entries detected in HKEY Local Machine active x trojan etc ,although Firefox users are better protected by these invasions. by: Nigel B | 5 | 2008-05-10 |
