This player is for the love of engineering. No bloated ads pushed in your face or hyper takeover of your screen. Mp3s sound cleaner, quieter and more realistic than winamp whether played from files or Shoutcast streams. For Shoutcast you can paste in urls into the playlist.

"Grateful to get out of the winamp"
with all those opinions coming out of the users, i must say i'm one of the happy users of this software. it's simply excellent. everything i need for a music player/encoder is there. just finding way of viewing visualizations is there way?
the other feature i notice is the audio volume leveling feature which i enjoyed with windows media player. the pop up track in the upper part of my screen resembles the one i see in walkman player in sony ericssons. it really beats winamp but i must say it's not par at windows media except the promise of audio encoder and recorder is amazing plus. video player must be improved i hope. but all in all the best music player i've ever used. will the developers make the mobile phone version of this software? Lol

Beats out Winamp in smoother bass and sonic clarity. I have new ears.
Best equalizer setting is Rock.
Took out Winamp in my Quick Launch and put in AIMP. Help is in Russian even though you've selected English. Use Babelfish to translate plugin webpage. The other Skins are kinda tacky, but it has a nice audio mini-bar. This is a MUST download for listenning to your MP3's. You'll be saying goodbye to the others... gaurenteed.

This is when simple is beautiful and truly beautiful it is. At very long last, a nice software that does things the way I want them.
The EQ is a joy and delight to use giving me as best an adjustment I want on PC.
I find it better than WMP and Winamp.

The player is gimpy, but the utilities are worth the install. Delete the desktop Player shortcut, and work with the Utilities shortcut. There are some nice audio utilities bundled in a small installed package of 2.65MB under XP Pro.
