"RE: Message"

You ask why? Because it's free software, we do it all for free in our spare time and we can't guarantee anything! If you want to install then click 'OK' to skip the warning...

> And why is this package a whopping 17.5mb in size when
> the "official" version is only 3.5mb?

Because this package includes MPlayer's "Binary Codec Package" and because we have different MPlayer builds for different CPU types. That's why we call it the "Full Package" :-P If that stuff wasn't included, then you would have to download it by hand.

"RE: Mozilla"

> I don't know what's up with this program,

Well, I just added a notice for IE useser that my site (which is 100% HTML conform, validated by W3) won't be displayed correctly in IE. I don't see why I should add workarounds, only because M$ is unable to get the Browser working properly! There are plenty *free* alternatives (not only Firefox and Mozilla) that work 100% fine...

"v- 2007-02-01"

I don't know what's up with this program , but to update as well as it's download , it keeps "forcing " me to want Mozilla browzer ... i don't see it as worth my effort and meg space even after reviewing the eventual download of it's previous offering just a few days earlier..plus , in my case, the sample audio music skips .. and it's website is just plain confusing to me

"Real/WMV issue fixed"

The problems some people had with Real and WMV files should be fixed with this update! The problem was, that the previous MPlayer builds didn't load the DLLs from ./codecs directory. The new builds are working properly now...

MPlayer has two renderes to choose on Windows platform: DirectX (Overlay) and OpenGL. MPUI uses the Overlay renderer, because it can be embedded into the GUI, which isn't possible with OpenGL renderer. There is no way to turn off Overlay in MPUI and there is no need for that as long as everything works okay. Overlay definitely should work, so if Overlay doesn't work on your computer, you will have to look for a way to fix it! Maybe update your video drivers, check all video driver settings or contact the support of your video card manufacturer. They should have a support forum or alike...

"hmmm"

Dunno what's up with this. Audio but no video on any file. Some failed to open codec and dll, some correctly identified file and extension but still no picture. Whenever I had a problem with other players (vlc, mpc, gom which play all of my files) it was usually overlay which could be turned off in options. I see overlay is turned off by default in this player tho. The options in this are minimal and the help file is simply a list of parameters which is too much trouble to search through just to play a video. I know it's a gui for a command line player, but c'mon.
Since nobody else appears to have these problems it must be my system so I give it an average rating.
.... and I'll decide which browser to use thank you :)

"This deserves a 10"

On a scale of 1 to 5 this is definitely a 10. Opens everything except except some real media files, but who actually needs those anyway?
Cheers !

"Excellent"

Out of the box working! Idiot proof! All we need is a plugin to make Opera use it instead of looking for Micro$haft player :-)
