Do a full scan and look at all the crap it produces that's not a so called healed infection..Ridiculous and Slow..T hat website scan it does when you use search is a joke and drops your speed into the dumpster zone LOL..Went back to Avast as that's way way better! Avast works good on Vista as well.

I ran this program for 2 weeks on 2 pc's. one xp and one vista. Yeah i did notice a slight slowdown of everything but that's not why I removed it. I trashed it becouse after doing a HD scan it showed like hundreds to thousands of unhealed infections. Yet it said my pc was clean. Most were active x registry keys. Trying to use this program to remove dead ones is a hangup nightmare. Not to mention keys you actually need. To make a long story short I would call AVG 8.0 a beta program at best but to me it appears more in the alpha stage. May get better with time but I sort of doubt it. Also as other people here posted, I tried to see if it reported certain keylogges and it did not give a response. I'll look for something else thank you.

Grisoft will cease support for AVG 7.5 anti-virus in favour of AVG 8 in the coming months.
One of the options that will NOT be disabled in version 8 free is AVG's email scanner as so wrongly reported by many other reviewers and websites. Overall Still the best most complete free AV programs although Avira Antvir has a slight better detection rate it also has a higher false positive detection and also no email scanner,Avast also a good complete free AV but trails baehind AVG 8 and Avira during malware tests this will be confirmed in May 2008 test results (Avcomparitives).

AVGs' linkscanner stops me opening some warez and adult websites,comes up warning !this website contains malicious or harmful trojans virus blah blah it is supposed to stop me opening a so called infected website by scanning it before you open it , but at least it did find a few or said it found a few trojans malware when i first ran a scan.

AVG loads much faster when i boot my PC up ,i have not had a chance to test the real time protection (not that i want too)as the linkscanner stops me from opening infected websites, the built in anti-spy got rid of a load of nasty hklm >activex trojans the first time i ran a full scan.overall still the most popular AV.

Works ok on crappy vista so that's a plus for vista lovers. When program is in full working order it will slow your puter and surfing down quite a bit on vista or xp. Not bad for free, just wish it wasen't a hog. Oink Oink..

There seems to be no options to disable the antispyware to save resources. As a result, this version takes up a lot more memory than the 7.5.
Also, Firefox extensions failed to run after installing the program.
