The Installer will *not* give you any language to choose, becuase the installer is ENGLISH. Always! Nevertheless the MPUI application is full multilingual. You can choose the languge from options menu ;-)
The uninstaller definitely will remove the icons! I fit doesn't work on your PC it's a bug in NSIS. I tested the uninstaller on different PCs and it always did work. by: MuldeR | 5 | 2006-10-09 |

"Rebuttal"
First, I was NOT given a language option when installing and was unable to understand the installed menus to try to find out how to change it to English.
Second, I did NOT change the file names of the desktop or start menu icons. by: Brian | 1 | 2006-10-09 |

1. The installer is *not* multi-language. It is Englsih, always. Nevertheless the MPUI application *is* multilanguage and you can select the language you prefer at any time. There are more than 20 languages to choose from. There should be one for you too ;-)
2. The uninstaller *will* remove Desktop icons and Startmenu entries too. But of course not if they were moved and/or renamed! No uninstaller will be able to remove them in this case. Furthermore you are able to delete an icon from your desktop yourself, I'm prety sure ;-) by: MuldeR | 5 | 2006-10-06 |

Nice try, MuldeR. I tried this and was not given a language option during the install. The menu was "Greek" to me! Regarding your uninstall - I found out I had to delete the directory but -- I was left with a desktop icon AND a Start Menu entry, each of which I had to delete individually. This is not what I would call 'user friendly'. by: Brian | 1 | 2006-10-06 |

MPlayer is a self-contained application! The installer will *not* copy any files to a different directory than the install directory you've chosen yourself. So there is no need for an uninstaller! Only applications that mess up your system need such a thing. If you want to uninstall MPlayer, just use your Windows Explorer and delete the install folder. That's it! by: MuldeR | 5 | 2006-10-03 |

"I did not know there was a choice for languages"
I did not know there was a choice for languages when I installed it, I must of missed it. At anyrate it had no uninstaller and it does not show up as an installed program with the others. I ended up deleting the folders. Just the fact that you can not uninstall it rates poor we me. by: Connie | 1 | 2006-10-02 |

That's not true! The installer *is* English and the MPUI program itself is full multi-language. So you can select the language you prefer, whatever this may be... by: MuldeR | 5 | 2006-10-02 |

I really can't rate it, the one I downloaded from this site is not in English, I don't know how to read it to use it. by: connie | 1 | 2006-10-01 |

Well, you can put your favourites on a playlist and save/load it at any time you want to. Or you put your favourites on your desktop and drag them in at any time you like ;-) by: MuldeR | 5 | 2006-09-22 |

"Best media player"
The fact you don't have to use codecs for anything is great. The only other player that can compete is VLC, which has a kinda sucky UI. I don't mind the command line version of mplayer, but MPUI is a very nice GUI for it. by: 5 | 5 | 2006-07-17 |

It's basic function is no different from any other video player I've used, which is, shockingly enough, to play videos.
> Most other Players (I guess 99% of all players used under Windows) are based on DirectShow. So those player need to install additional codecs/filters on your PC for each single audio/video/container format. With MPlayer you don't need to care about codecs and stuff, since it has all required decoders included! Furthermore you can get rid of QuickTimer, RealPlayer and stuff...
And what is this business about only supporting Athlons and Pentiums? It worked well enough on my Celeron.
> Optimized builds will give you the best performance on your specific CPU. Since Celeron is nothing but a low-cost version of the Pentium processor, the P3 builds should work on your CPU. Maybe even P4 builds, depends on what Celeron model you use.
Also, even though the menus are pretty straight-forward, an english version would be nice.
