Works without problems on my old Win98se machine,(only software with active scanning for Win98se) no spyware alarm bells either, just got the pro version. Scanning speed greatly improved! Pre-releases means someone is actually working to impove the product! by: Karim | 5 | 2008-02-28 | | | | "spyware"
i want a program SuperExtraUltraAwesomeMegaAnti Spyware. If someone will make that soft, then my life will be secure :)) by: dd2music | 3 | 2008-02-28 | | | | ""
Just stick with trying the pre-betas, version 3.9 -- still can update same malware database.
If they're gonna keep cranking betas out with no readily accessible web site coverage, it's just not worth it. by: mweizor | 1 | 2008-02-07 | | | | "Good luck removing it"
Installed it,didn't catch anything other than a couple of cookies. Was not impressed.Tried to remove it,could not get rid of all the files, and it installs suspicious drivers.Had to remove all the registry keys manually to remove all the files.Too suspicious for me.Hope this helps. by: jimmynoodles | 1 | 2008-02-05 | | | | "Spyware from Anti-Spyware"
This is weird. Recently I installed a media encoder software from SUPER, and it was full of suspicious software that I would consider to be spyware. It wrote strange exe-files to my Windows folder and even left it there after deinstallation. Now there's an Anti-Spyware software from a spyware developer??? by: Smoochy | 1 | 2008-02-05 | | | | "v- 4.0.1114 beta"
WTF ? ... I had the 4.0.1108 beta; I wanted to update it to the current 4.0.1114 beta, since it would not do so from the program.
From the download, I selected Open (not save); upon download completion, a Microsoft authentification notice queried me to allow this companies' AdBlocker to be installed ??? .. I selected No, it disappeared but nothing else further happened ??
Soooooo, I downloaded it AGAIN, this time selecting Save (to desk top); once downloaded, selected Open; it began the proper update/install.
Any-frikkin-way, I have no idea what the update is -- no info readily on web site.
Currently, I'm using (testing) this program as a second layer anti-spyware scanner/database only (Spyware Terminator is my primary).
I haven't had any apparent problems with the betas, thus far; it seems to have updates daily (manually); not a fast scanner , but reasonable; not too fat (14mb , installed) and ok on resources.
Configure options via the Prefrences tabs -- those that can be , that is.
So, thus far, I give it a 4 (as a secondary)-- on 2kpro. by: mweizor | 4 | 2008-01-29 | | | | ""
pure junk by: | 1 | 2008-01-26 | | | | "Good!"
Picked up a virtuamone variant that spybot, adaware, & webroot missed with updated definitions.
Had to run hijack this to remove the 4 or 5 key entries relating to the malware first, because any attempt to remove it with anti-malware programs was futile.
It would keep coming back, re-installing, or it I deleted or disabled, a second later it would re-enable itself. It also changed avg antivirus to detect itself as malware, and did the same for avast when I removed avg and tried avast.
Avast could not kill it because it kept coming back.
After I removed the 5 entries with Hijack this tool, rebooted, then ran the removal tools, everything worked great.
Be sure to right-click my computer, properties, system restore, and disable all restore points so any future you won't accidentally restore back to those problems in the future.
Re-enable after finished. P.S. AVG went back to working fine like it should after that nasty pest was removed, and no longer reported that avg.exe and yahoo or other non-viruses as trojans.
Good freeware includes: Firefox web browser, startup run by nirsoft, hosts manager, avg free, ccleaner, abiword, and others.
Hope this review helps! by: Junkbuster | 5 | 2008-01-23 | | | | "Very good"
Read a lot of complaints about this program - I think it must be the installation or the oprerators - I have a reasonably large amount of stuff to scan on three drives and its done pretty quickly.
Above all its done two things that the others have beenunable to do - 1) find stuff that I know is there that other more vaunted programs have beenunable to do and 2) has removed hijacks that others have either not picked up or are unable to remove. by: Mike | 5 | 2008-01-20 | | | | "Finally"
Finally got rid of an IE6 hijacker. Thanks a million. Just what I needed. by: muddler | 5 | 2008-01-20 | | | | "Not that good"
installs a registry key that you cannot remove. tried using unlocker software and couldn't remove this key....hmmmm seems like this spyware remover installs spyware itself. that sucks!!!! by: Swoop | 2 | 2008-01-20 | | | | ""
