i rate this the best av yet! its detection rate is brilliant and its simple to use. the ad that pops up is annoying but you cannot complain when its free and good. it does what it says on the tin! its a av program not a spyware program. its not intrusive or heavy on cpu usage. its scan is quick and powerful and found a few problems which avast missed. its updates are regular and no registration is required. i will use this as my primary av protection and give it my thumbs up big time...

Used AVG, Avast and now Avira and Avira gets the nod. It found more vulnerabilities than the other 2, has an easy and clear interface and does not hog resources as AVG does. Paired with a good spyware program this is all you need.

I use Avira and Online Armor firewall and they both work very well together. Avira has caught what other antivirus tools I've used in the past missed. I've never experienced any problems with Avira. Very easy to use, the layout is simple and easy to understand, even for a greenhorn. It's a keeper!

I have used AVG, Avast! and Antivir. The latter has a higher score in many tests and reviews. Moreover, Anivir is less on resources. Unfortunately, this free version does (yet) not protect against spyware, like AVG. But to me, it is the best virus scanner I ever have used.

Avira is a good Antivirus software, with high detection ratio. But AVAST and AVG offer included Antispyware with their Antivirus suites and have just as high deection ratio,Avira does not have Antispyware on their free version.
It is your choice!

1.Kaspersky

2.Norton
