"Get Photoshop"
If you are serius get Photoshop! GIMP packs in many low quality tools and features in an extremely unintuitive interface. Unless you are some Uber Geek with weeks of time to spend learning -forget it. by: Informed | 2 | 2007-06-04 |

I love this program hands down. It is the best program I've found for image manipulation that is free. I even like it better than Photoshop CS2 because that has so many things to learn in it, the GIMP has enough as it is. Everytime I use it I learn something new. It does have a bit of a steep learning curve, but if you really want to get into photo manipulation, it's a great tool. Def. will not get rid of it. by: Kali | 5 | 2007-03-26 |

"Excellent"
Just as good as photoshop but only FREE, It's not for wimps that don't want to learn, but if your serious about photography, it's a gotta have and learn..have fun by: davO | 5 | 2007-03-23 |

"its ok"
its pretty ok i guess. but like that other guy said, cant even make basic shapes. and if i open gimp it has to be the only program open because it fills up the taskbar with its many windows.
and reading tons of tutorials to learn to make stuff other software does with one click made me tired.
so if you download this and cant afford anything else, stick with it, cause you cant beat the price, but for me it was no worth it. by: centow | 3 | 2007-01-07 |

"More than what you pay for"
This thing is amazing still people find small faults to complain about. I prefer this program to the big guy's because it is such a nice piece of work. Considering what you get with this program as oppossed to what you pay for, Its a super deal. by: JimW | 5 | 2006-07-14 |

"It's good, but it could be so much more..."
Gimp is a rock solid photo and image editor. You can use to to do all kinds of image manipulation including, interestingly enough, logo creation. However, Gimp is not an easy program to use: It has a VERY steep learning curve. So, unless you're willing to spend a LOT of time learning the program, look elsewhere for an image editor. Likewise, Gimp has one glaring flaw: You can't easily create shapes with it. Yup, you can't create spheres, cubes or other geometric shapes of note. Do you need to create a web button. Forget it. Gimp can't do it on its own. So, although Gimp is good for editing existing images, it largely falls flat on its face when it comes to creating graphics or graphic elements from scratch. Still, if you're big into image editing, you may want to give Gimp a try. But you should expect to experience some frustration as you try to learn its many features and abilities. by: CharlieIOrlando | 3 | 2006-06-23 |

"The best"
I don't understand how some people can find petty flaws in this great program. I have been using it now for almost a year and prefer it to the big guys. It is a great program with free tutorials all over the web as well as plugins, etc. I love the thing.

"Good Software"
No doubt it is a good programme but there's no option on working with CMYK. by: nrshm | 4 | 2006-05-28 |

"Excellent"
Does most of what the £500 Photoshop cs2 can, one of the best free programmes, full stop. Brilliant! by: Todd | 5 | 2006-05-09 |

"Awkward"
Yes, this IS a very good program, BUT it is clumsy. by: Vlad | 3 | 2006-02-19 |

"Lovely stuff"
This programme is excellent, considering it does most of what Photoshop CS can and costs nothing compared to Photoshop's £500 or so, This is a must for anyone with an interest in photo retouching. by: Todd | 5 | 2006-02-13 |

"awkward"
The Gimp can do so much, almost as much as Photoshop, but it is an awkward program. I'd rather pay for Photoshop Elements 4.0 than have to use this! by: mr bean | 3 | 2006-01-15 |
