I copied and pasted this from a previous review because the same thing happened to me:
So i scanned my computer with AVG and at the end, it said that it failed to scan a launch file. I rescanned that exact same file with AVAST!( AVAST is another free antivirus and is way better than AVG)When I rescanned the launch file with AVAST! it found, and cleaned out a virus. AVG failed to scan this file. SO WHAT GOOD IS AVG IF IT FRIGGIN FAILED TO FRIGGIN SCAN THE FRIGGIN FILES WITH THE FRIGGIN VIRUSES!!! Please download AVAST! It is 10 times better than AVG. AVG is a failure

Between the two FREE antiviruses out there ( AVG and AVAST) choose avast. AVG is very bad compared to AVAST

So far alot of people are saying to use AVAST. I agree. AVG is cruddy. AVAST is great. AVAST is the best. AVAST is even better than so antiviruses you have to pay for!

Trust me. AVG is getting mixed messages, and most people seem to be recomending AVAST!. I am on of those people. It is hard to find a negative comment on AVAST! , but with AVG, finding something negative is easy, like the fact that you can't cancel preset scans. AVAST ALL THE WAY

There are many agruements between if Avast is better, or avg. So far Avast is winning that arguement and ot deserves to!. AVAST Is THE BEST!. avg sucks. Avast is quick, reliable, and doesnt slow down ur PC.

If you want to protect your computer, download AVAST!
AVG sucks compared to Avast. AVG is way less precise when finding threats than AVAST! Also, AVG does minorly slow your computer down, but AVAST! doesnt. AVAST! is 200% Better than this AVG crap

Avast is far superior to this crapwear reviewer Schmow . Also avast dosent automaticaly scan the pc. A feature you cant disable in the avg free version and that really blows. AVG is the resource hog! Get a grip sonny!
