Very nice. Gets rid of most spyware and viruses, but it requires registration to have the shield. by: Sam Hobson | 4 | 2007-05-18 |

"Rock Solid"
I've been using AVG for years.
It keeps my files clean with little effort on my part. Daily upgrades are fast, reliable and automatic.
Running a full system scan tends to use almost all available memory.
The price is right. ;-) by: PattiO | 5 | 2007-05-02 |

"Error in last review"
I meant to type - previous reviewer might have a virus - similar symptoms have been found in several computers which are detailed in the next review. No fix is currently known.

"Previous review might have virus"
Excellent product. I am a computer consultant, and I've seen two computer systems in the past week that are unable to access the internet (but strangely they can access by dial-up!), System Restore fails right around the time that the virus was downloaded - but if you make your own recent restore point it works, the computer cannot use DHCP (auto configure for ethernet/DSL) and if you manually enter the IP address, the computer works for about 30 seconds before the access is turned off. Also SFC (System File Checker) will fail. Attempts to reinstall Windows XP via the install CD (to repair the system) also fail. Yet the computer/ethernet and DSL all work correctly on a self-booting CD of Linux (various types). None of the fixes at AVG currently detect this virus. It is a very bad one.
Best wishes,
Mike from QRV Tech. by: QRV | 5 | 2007-05-01 |

AVG is a great program for anyone to use but when it goes wrong its a pain in the backside. I used this for many months and all seemed ok, until it would not let me update, I tried to reinstall and it would not let me do that, kept giving me a error warning. But I will say that if you cannot afford to buy an antivirus system, then this program is worth the time to download and install, it works very well most of the time by: | 4 | 2007-04-26 |

"Vulnerable"
At least twice in the past, a virus attack on my PC disabled and messed up AVG AntiVirus. This never happens to Avast. by: Gardo | 1 | 2007-04-22 |

"Compelling reason"
Can anyone give one compelling reason for me to use this instead of Avast! or Comodo AntiVirus? by: Gani | 2 | 2007-04-22 |

"AVG ROCKS!!"
I like and trust AVG Software...Downloaded this at first, with freewarefiles download manger, loaded super fast.Turned out to be doing an'illegal operation'.Downloaded again, seems to download much better.Read a review like here that said 7.1 would stop and not be free, and 7.5 would be free for a period and no free updates available...guess it was a crock!! by: The Vermin8tor | 5 | 2007-04-13 |
