I was using Avira Antvir free until i opened a "spyware/ virus infected email". Avira could not save me as it does not have a email scanner or built in antispyware detection.

avast is a good av program but its not the best freeware available. i would try avira as its detection rate is much better. i tried avast for six months and when i switched to avira it detected 7 problems that avast missed plus avast didnt score well in this years detection tests. i would try both and you be the judge..

This is a great replacement for the obese NAV. It does just as good a job and its FREE!
I have never experienced a problem with virus's or with the app itself since I switched 2 years ago. (long time, no review). It has a very light footprint. I wasnt sure it was working so I purposely went out to find some viruses and it zapped them w/no problems.
