if it dosent find anything then why are u complaining? if your system is infected and its missed it then fair enough but ive always used spybot and its still the best freeware by far. i even donated to it and its very rare i do that. it uses little power with a good resident shield and a very powerful search n destroy scanner. what more do u want? use spybot combined with avast and you cant really go wrong.

"Never finds anything"
Spybot was the best anti-virus program along with adaware 2 years ago now they are rubbish.The best 3 anti-spyware programs are webroot spysweeper (not free) AVG anti-spyware (free and paid)Spyware Doctor (paid)the free version of spyware doctor is rubbish you have to get the paid version as the free version has about 420,000 signature updates missing!

It found lots of nasties on my pc when i first ran it ,now i don't get any infections because the tea timer is protecting me,it works like a barrier from my computer to the web fending off nasty bugs

I would recommend Spybot as your number 1 anti-spyware program,but you must leave the tea timer and resident shield on.AVG anti-spyware free as your second choice scanner as it has no realtime protection but the daily updates and the detection rate is excellent.

Found a Trojan hidden deep in the bowels of my system 32 folders,no wonder i have corrupt files when i run the sfc/scannow command,which cana be repaired.Gota reinstall O.S Vista.

Spybot 1.4 was the best stable working version.Why can't Spybot bring updates out every day instead of every month even AVG and Spyware Doctor free versions at least you get updates every day.

"Back to it's Best with v1.5.2"
Spybot offers a good degree of realtime protection (resident shield which i like) and also teatimer feature,although i do not use this feature it does work.I have now switched back to Spybot from spyware Doctor free which burned up CPU,no realtime protection and could not be disabled from msconfig startup,slowing my PC down.

"Strange Results"
I use this on my Windows XP laptop and it is excellent always finds some malware when i scan once a month,but with my Vista Desktop it finds nothing. The only other anti-spy program that i use on both my PCs' is Windows Defender,which must work good on Vista but not on XP or is it Spybot S&D works good on XP but not on Vista??

"still the best"
Since version 1.52 all major flaws that came up with the 1.5 version are fixed. Spybot is back. It's still the best when considering that it's free and has built-in stuff like the tea-timer that protects from suspicious processes being started and the browser immunization. thanks to the authors in beautiful wicklow in ireland.
