"SP3 not due for release until 2008???"
Windows XP SP3 is not due to be released until some time in 2008. I wonder if this is a fake Service Pack. If you go to Microsofts Download Center you will find links to Windows XP SP2, but not to SP3. This is very strange. I wouldn't try this service pack unless I can confirm that is actually comes from Microsoft.

I have XP SP2, and it works fine for me. I see no logical reason to download this.
Oh, and let me remind ya'll that this area is for reviews, NOT for fighting about which OS is better.

freewarefiles is always listing programs that are never finished. I feel sorry for the unsuspecting downloaders out there who think that some of these programs that this site lists are final versions.

NOTE! This SP3 release is still in beta!
I have not tried this SP myself, but have read nothing but good things about it. There is nothing exciting in it, other than the potential for performance improvement.
I find it irritating that Microsoft postponed this release so as not to take attention away from the oh-so-precious Vista.

"Very useful"
This Service Pack made my PC run faster and smoother although my processor is only 1GHz and I have only 256MB RAM. Downside is that uxtheme.dll patch won't work if you have this installed.
