This office suite is awesome!Let's first take things from the start:
OO has been developed by volunteers and his source code is is available to anyone,so anyone who knows programming can fix any errors and improve the suite.
More users are becoming familiar to OO because it's similar to Mic.Office,and it's free!
OO it;s a very competitive office suite.The most excellent thing is that it is being available in 27 languages,so I can use it more easily because my mother language is not English.

"Great substitute for MS Office"
Must say I like this, especially the Write component which is the bit I use most, and the PDF exporter is brilliant, no ads, yet it's free.
If there's any niggle the graphics in MS Works are better.

It's free, a complete package, available on almost any platform, can work wit M$ Office and I have used it for years with minor complain. Why use costly product when you can get almost the functionality for free ? 5 stars !

OpenOffice.org is an unbeatable deal, and for most people is a suitable replacement for Microsoft Office, hands down. It is not just a word processor, but also offers spreadsheet functionality roughly equivalent to Excel, a presentation program which is, more or less, comparable to Power Point. In addition, OpenOffice.org now contains a built-in relational database application similar to MS Access.

"Best Free Ware Out There"
This FREE word processor is probably the best deal to come out of the open source community. I doesn't have ALL of the features that MSO has (like resume wizards and others) but OOo is the best Free word processor. It even saves and opens .doc files. If you're a student with little cash. This is perfect for you.

"Very Solid and Powerful Office Suite!"
With this office suite, you do not need Microsoft Office anymore. OpenOffice.org is a VERY powerful office suite containing every feature that you would find in MSOffice. Ever since I downloaded this, I stopped using MSOffice because I don't need it anymore. I recommend OpenOffice.org to everyone.

"Work around"
I've used OOo since v1.1.1 and even then OOo was respectable competitor to MSO. With version 2.0.x, OOo blows out MS from scene and now MSO try copy, polish and implement some ideas from OOo. Is it worth to u to pay $300-$600 for MSO? Let see..
Writer is better,more logical and sofisticated word processor than Word. Have Math formulas wich Word try to reach with MathType (no freweware).
Calc is excelent spreadsheet program in some stuff better than Excel, and in some not (plain sort, i.e.) but I say this only to not spoiled programmers of OOo..
Impress..ehmm need to workaround. Nice and everything but slow animations than PowerPoint can make spoiled user nervous.
Base is not full of tiny, smoth detail like Access but have essential usability for normal user. Base have better connectivity to other database formats than MS Access.
Draw is out of competition because MSO don't have it similar aplication..
Conclusion: Writer is superior to Word, Calc is more-less like Excel with some positive advance, Impress is slower and with much less make-up collection in comparison to PowerPoint, and Base need some improvements and workaround.. And, finally.. great, great office suite and for fact that is free, some might think I want to much of it, but I use OOo over 1 year and I want the best for OOo and that be the best office suite in world..
