I think "alberteinstein" needs to start using a new nickname... I've used many versions of Unlocker as well, under WinXP, and it DOES successfully close open file handles. If it doesn't work for you, it may be due to some other software you have installed. But Unlocker is used by thousands of users, and it does work.

"Unlocker" 1.8.3 have locked my machine - and the registry on my XP professional get corrupted. I had to manually restore registry from DOS, not an easy task if you use NTFS. So, take care...
