I never cease to be astonished at how many people continue to confuse the 7z compression ALGORITHM with the 7-Zip ARCHIVER. This is the archiver listed here. It makes use of the 7z algorithm, yes, but SO DO MANY OTHER ARCHIVERS! So raving about 7-Zip because "it compresses well" makes no sense. When you do that, you are reviewing the ALGORITHM, not the ARCHIVER.
About the archiver... It's OK, usable, but I don't find it anywhere near as usable, custimizable, or robust as WinRAR. (And again, I'm talking about the WinRAR ARCHIVER, not the RAR ALGORITHM!)

This program represents a very good alternative to WinZip. Although it is slightly more complicate to set up,it achieve good compression ratio with the proper set up

"DOS missing, present Stable, not Alpha"
1. Please mention that this product works in DOS using HX Extender and has a DOS port.
2. You should offer stable versions, NOT Alpha.

Great app. Use it every day, problem free. But an ALPHA release on a freeware site? Not impressed at all. Can we have FINALS please. Beta testers know where to go for their apps.

Very well does everything I need and then some. Been using 7 zip for almost 2 years and I wouldnt consider changing to anything else. Best of freeware. Never experienced any bugs in any of the 7 zip versions yet.
